Super Y-League is a professionalized system for developing youth soccer players in North America.  Affiliated with US Soccer, the league is designed for talented youth players destined for collegiate, professional or international careers.  Through Olympic Development (ODP) status programs and events such as the North American Finals and National ODP camps, the nation’s top players are selected for US National Team Programs.  The SYL is made up of a series of regional divisions that contain the top clubs and players from North America. Indiana Invaders plays in the Midwest conference.  Invaders will be fielding U13 and U15 boys’ teams.

Invaders teams play in the USL Super Y-League, which runs from June through July. In 2011, Indiana Invaders fielded a three boys teams U13 boys, 14 boys and U15 Boys. The U14 Boys team finished 2nd in the tough Midwest Division and qualified for the National finals in Tampa, Fl.

Five Invaders players were selected and will be attending the National ODP Camp 2012 at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. Each nominated player has been identified as one of the top players in their birth year. Congratulations to Willie Macedo 95/96, Alex Ramirez 97/98, Damon Binkley 97/98, Tyler Treat 97/98 and Jon Aaron 97/98 for their selection.

TAMPA, Fla. - United Soccer Leagues is pleased to announce the players nominated and selected for the 2011/12 Super Y-League Olympic Development Program National Camps. Each nominated player has been identified as one of the top players in their birth year, and among the top two percent of players in the Super Y-League.

The ODP Program, which brings together top players from across the United States and Canada, is a crucial component of the USL Super Y-League, offering the best players from the U13 to U17 age groups a chance to receive top-quality coaching and the opportunity to be scouted by U.S. National Team and college coaches. This year’s ODP age groups will feature the top players (192 girls & 192 boys) born in either 1995/96, or 1997/98.

The camps will once again be held at the world-class facilities of IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida, home to the U.S. Soccer U-17 Residency Program. USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor, who has spent the past 18 years as a member of the U.S. National Staff and 25 years as an ODP coach, will direct the camps.

IMG Academies is the world’s largest and most advanced multi-sport training facility for athletic, academic and personal development. During the span of 30-plus years, the Academy’s advanced training methods have helped countless youth, adult, collegiate and professional athletes improve in sport and life by providing an energetic and inspiring atmosphere on a 400-acre campus.

The additional lists of players born in 1993/94 are posted to recognize the top players from those birth years. The list will be promoted to more than 1,000 colleges, the USSF National Staff and the Canadian Soccer Association.

The Minis Select League will be ran by professionally-licensed soccer coaches. Coaches will work closely with players to ensure they are learning new soccer skills while being challenged in a fun and safe environment. Players can expect to develop their individual soccer skills by working on footwork and technical drills with the ball. Players will also experience small sided games that focus on teamwork, fundamentals and fun.
