METHEMBE "MO" NDLOVU UPDATE
I am not sure how many of you know Methembe Ndlovu - he was a volunteer assistant for me here at Notre Dame for two years (2004 / 2005) when he was Director of Coach for Mario Manta and the Indiana Invaders. Methembe is a Zimbawian who played for me at Dartmouth and was an excellent player and person. He returned home to Zimbabwe last year to take up the position of Head Coach with Highlanders FC in the Zimbabwe Super League and also to head up the Grassroot Soccer(HIV Awareness)  project in that country.

The good news is that Highlanders just won the Super league last weekend and Methembe is the youngest coach ever to do this in the country. He has also been asked to assist with Zimbabwe's national team in their preparations for the African Cup and the next World Cup which is to be held in South Africa.

While on about Methembe and Africa I thought that you might enjoy this short video on GrassrootSoccer and how soccer in Africa is a great tool to teach youngsters about the danger of AIDS.
